If divine intervention it is, then it probably could be Shiva's third eye...(which is also incidentally red eye). Anyway, the other guesses for the day are: Waterfall(or cascade), Fruit. PS: lenscrafter> Thx for clarification.
Is it the silk zari border pattern thing? I don't know if the "red eye" is any kind of clue [my first time on this site] but thought it was based on others' comments.
there is something on the right extreme which has purple in it both at the top and somewhere close to the bottom. Does this indicate some sort of etching or carving on the surface? If it turns out to be a ganesha is that the mouse?
Funny that you should mention Pillayar. Although this is not an image of Pillayar, or muruga peruman or siva peruman or his eye, there is a connection between Pillayar and this image. That is my clue for the day.
You must know by now that my clues are harder than the puzzle itself, so please treat the clue with a pinch of salt.
>rads: welcome to the blog, the title of each post is not a clue and has little to do with the answer.
>sai: shiva's third eye cannot be photographed, didn't u know that ;)
>madsies: welcome to u too. Patience ...
>sisyphus: the answer is usually not that arbit.
>?!: additional clue: this is usually never in a fridge.
>anon: not a fire eater, but interesting answer ... ;)
vand, interesting strategies for your guessing game. like a good batsman waiting for the bad ball, you wait for the easy puzzle and hit it for a six. and the rest, you're content to push around for singles. seems like u have left this one alone ?
If the word is already in the comments page,I'm wondering why no winner yet......so it cant be anywhere in the guesses.and further it is connected with vinayakaswamy.OK,now im feeling dizzy...... hey, wait a minute!!!is it the cap of a pen?!i dont know if the word is there on the page or not,but it could be the close up of a pen cap, which all students writing exams will know,is connected to pillayar.
dei, i didnt check this one for a couple of days .... anyway this one seems tough, can you put an extended image and give us a day, may be that will help us identify it. i dont want to guess on this one until i convince myself that there is atleast a modicum chance of being right.
The answer is:-A magnified portion of the pillayar picture, the dark red part being the frame of the pic. Am I right? will u give me consolation points?
that thing in the middle looks, quite obviously, like a screw. but i won't fall into the trap..that screw is nearly perfectly aligned with the grooves..hence this is something alien.. putting two and two together (ie reading other guesses), it's the up-indicator from a alien spaceship, you know the one they use to indicate that they are going up..you've caught it on the on-blink
the connection with vinayagar is evident. but what about the connection with "fire"? what are the clues in the picture that lead us guessers to a computer mouse, i say?

there is something on the right extreme which has purple in it both at the top and somewhere close to the bottom.
Does this indicate some sort of etching or carving on the surface?

Looks like a tree trunk. Only connection with pillayar I could think of is "Arasa marathadi pillayar"
Yannai-kaal - not the disease, but the colour corrected leg of the elephant
It's the 17th already. I think we've been patient enough. :-)
no color correction, no change in aspect ratio.
last clue: this is a magnified image.
i'll give you guys one more day.

2.Sagittal section of a ripe kabuli Anaar.
3. Shah Jehan's Simhasanam.
Now I'm going to read ALL the comments!
I read all the comments.
All my three guesses are over.
The answer is:-A magnified portion of the pillayar picture, the dark red part being the frame of the pic. Am I right? will u give me consolation points?

@littlecow, this is not specific to the far east. it is a well-known and widely-used thing.
will post the answer later tonight (few hours).
ok then last guess:
throat lozenge,or some other capsule.
no idea what it would have to do with lord ganesha,so i guess im wrong anyway.
Answer: It is a mouse. To be more specific, a computer mouse.
Ok,which side/part of a mouse?
Hey,was this puzzle influenced by one of the comments in the earlier puzzles?(I think 'Strata' puzzle it was)
the connection with vinayagar is evident. but what about the connection with "fire"? what are the clues in the picture that lead us guessers to a computer mouse, i say?
@littlecow: no connection with fire. clues to the answer are in the color, texture and symbol of microsoft mice.
@madsies: title has no relevance. shot was front elevation. will post a larger pic.
@sai: not influenced.
Microsoft symbol for mice?I didnt know they had one.At least ennoda mouse-la 'microsoft' thaan irukku, but no such symbol.
