If divine intervention it is, then it probably could be Shiva's third eye...(which is also incidentally red eye).
Anyway, the other guesses for the day are: Waterfall(or cascade),
Fruit.

I don't know if the "red eye" is any kind of clue [my first time on this site] but thought it was based on others' comments.

Nice idea you have going on here.

no no, no cloth, the texture is too grainy, either it's metal or stone - I'd say it's part of an idol, base... The color is a red herring imho :--)

there is something on the right extreme which has purple in it both at the top and somewhere close to the bottom.
Does this indicate some sort of etching or carving on the surface?
If it turns out to be a ganesha is that the mouse?

or its not so obvious like that

fire eater

Funny that you should mention Pillayar. Although this is not an image of Pillayar, or muruga peruman or siva peruman or his eye, there is a connection between Pillayar and this image. That is my clue for the day.

You must know by now that my clues are harder than the puzzle itself, so please treat the clue with a pinch of salt.

>rads: welcome to the blog, the title of each post is not a clue and has little to do with the answer.

>sai: shiva's third eye cannot be photographed, didn't u know that ;)

>madsies: welcome to u too. Patience ...

>sisyphus: the answer is usually not that arbit.

>?!: additional clue: this is usually never in a fridge.

>anon: not a fire eater, but interesting answer ... ;)

vand, interesting strategies for your guessing game. like a good batsman waiting for the bad ball, you wait for the easy puzzle and hit it for a six. and the rest, you're content to push around for singles. seems like u have left this one alone ?

that thing in the middle looks, quite obviously, like a screw. but i won't fall into the trap..that screw is nearly perfectly aligned with the grooves..hence this is something alien..
putting two and two together (ie reading other guesses), it's the up-indicator from a alien spaceship, you know the one they use to indicate that they are going up..you've caught it on the on-blink

@littlecow: no connection with fire. clues to the answer are in the color, texture and symbol of microsoft mice.
