I think and many will agree that the colors are inverted. So it looks like a shiny gold object. I also think you have inverted the image.
May be like a cover of kumguma chimizh or some traditional golden object.

Is it one of those reinforced plastic ceilings people use these days instead of asbestos/other kinds of sunshades?

Or may be it is just a lampshade (one of those inverted things)

Now this word verification thing is getting crazy... In some insane script, my word is dxqwxxoz. Now, really, why is THIS a word?!

Perhaps it is time to call it 'ridiculous garble verification'?!

the ventilator kind of grooves must be a clue and also the curve of the object bottom right. i can either see the reflection of a person and lamp stand on the left on the object, if its not a reflection

then it could be a curtain or
some blue fibre glass

one guess after a long time
- cymbals (drum) - color inverted and rotated.

Hope this is right - had to search a little to even find this word.

These are not blue venetian blinds, are they?
I can't explain the curvature and all that. But the long lines make me think if I developed this image onto a flat sheet, it could look like blinds.

wow, out of the blue there, Sreekrishna ! And he gets it right ! did vand's suggestion help you ? they are cymbals used as part of a drums set, i'll post the original.

@sisyphus: sorry about the garble verification, it's for the spammers.

@fireeater: i don't think it is a persons reflection, since this is in the negative, it's probably a top light.

others, excellent round of guessing. keep it up !
